We are proud to present our latest venue in Funchal, Poncha da Imperatriz Wine & Food, designed by Nini Andrade Silva’s Atelier.
Here, in an atmosphere that blends simplicity and elegance, the artistry is first and foremost evident in the delicately prepared dishes, which combine traditional and contemporary cuisine, with the kitchen open from 6.00 pm until midnight. To accompany the food, there is a carefully curated wine list of the highest quality, featuring regional wines, some of the finest Portuguese wines and international wines.
Later in the evening, as the night wears on, we serve traditional Madeiran ponchas, cocktails and regional drinks, alongside champagnes, whiskies, cognacs and a significant private collection of Madeira wines. In the kitchen, authentic Italian flavours come to life through a carefully selected range of premium Italian products, combined with fresh local ingredients. Pasta, risottos, pizzas and salads reflect a deep respect for tradition, reimagined with contemporary creativity.
The dining experience is enhanced by attentive and personalised service, thoughtfully designed to ensure guests’ comfort, as well as by the use of carefully selected high-quality tableware and glassware that elevate both presentation and flavour.
The wine list features a balanced selection from Portugal’s finest wine regions, complemented by Italian labels and champagnes. Among the must-try dishes are the Pasta La Bella Italia, prepared in a wheel of Grana Padano cheese, the Pepperoni Pizza, the Linguini Frutti di Mare, and the desserts Tiramisù and Pavlova.
